Objectives of the Course
To generate the highly trained and motivated experts in Geotechnical assessment for seismic activity.
To generate the manpower which will assist the Government authorities in formulation of strategies to prevent or reduce the damage caused to life and property.
To generate manpower which will help the government construction/building technology, so as to minimize the losses in various aspects in seismicity prone areas.
For the development of seismic design methodologies for constructions specific our country.
To create the awareness about natural disasters like earthquake and community education so as to equip the common man to face the natural calamities.
To find the solutions for consequences of natural disasters, analysis of disaster impact in different socio-economic conditions.
Development of seismic retrofitting technologies and technology verifications on full scale models for Indian construction typologies.

The man-power generated will have placements in various government agencies, local bodies, public sector undertakings and multinationals, which deal in developing technologies for earthquake disaster mitigation, construction, oil and mineral exploration sectors. The students will be consultants as advisers and designers for construction industry.
