Nanded Education Society, Nanded

Poojya Swami Ramanand Teerth a great visionary freedom fighter established Nanded Education Soceity, Nanded in 1950 for catalyzing educational revolution in Marathwada region.

Poojya Swamiji with the help of his associates like Shri. Babasaheb Paranjpe, Shri. Govindbhaiji Shroff, Shri. Bhagwanrao Ganjwe, Shri. Shyamrao Bhodhankar, Prof. M.D. Padhye and Shri.Sitaram Pappuji with the philanthropic people of Nanded, business community and those interested in development of higher education in Nanded founded the Nanded Education Soceity, Nanded. Nanded Education Society started the People’s College in 1950, in the campus of Osmanshahi Mills.

The Nanded Education Society acquired through donations and purchased of 84 Acres of fine land and with the help of philanthropists built a building of its own college. Shri. Puranmalji Lahoti of Latur gave a donation from which an assembly hall was built. The Science College, was separated from People’s College in June 1963 as a N.E.S. Science College, Nanded.

1. Shri. B. R. Gajwe and Shri. Shyamrao Bodhankar were administrative heads of the Nanded Education Soceity.

2. Swamiji was founder president of Nanded Society since 1950 to 1972 over a period of 22 years. After Swamiji Govind Bhai Shroff veteran freedom fighter became the president of Nanded Education Soceity. At present veteran Cardiologist Dr. Venkatesh Kabde is president of Nanded Education Soceity.

NES has focused misson. The N.E.S. organizes different activities as a part of its mission. One of such activities was "A grand felicitation ceremony organized at Science College, Nanded in the year 1972. A great number of eminent freedom fighters from all over the state and adjoining states of Andra Pradesh, Karnataka have graved this occasion. This event was of great historical significance to our institution to recapture reminiscences of freedom struggle.
